Tevin Tobun, a leading entrepreneur and philanthropist, delivered a powerful keynote speech at the Diverse Business Summit, where he shared his vision for fostering inclusive growth and innovation in the business world. The summit, which attracts industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders, focuses on advancing diversity and creating opportunities for underrepresented groups in business and corporate leadership.
Tobun, who has been widely recognised for his contribution to business and social causes, spoke passionately about the importance of embracing diversity, not only as a moral imperative but as a strategic advantage for businesses looking to thrive in an increasingly globalised and dynamic market.
Tobun stated “Diversity is not just a buzzword—it’s a business strategy that unlocks innovation, drives performance, and strengthens resilience.”
Drawing from his experiences as the founder of GV Group and the tech-driven venture ROUTD, Tobun highlighted the role that technology and innovation can play in creating more inclusive environments within industries traditionally dominated by a lack of diversity. ROUTD, a cutting-edge AI and machine learning platform disrupting vending, warehouse management and distribution, serves as a prime example of how technological advancements can drive efficiency and create new opportunities for businesses and individuals alike.
Tobun also addressed the need for greater representation of Black and minority ethnic groups in leadership roles. He emphasised that while progress has been made, there is still much work to be done.
“We need to actively create spaces where diverse voices can not only be heard but can shape the decisions that drive the future of industries,” he said.
The entrepreneur, who has been recognised for his philanthropic efforts and commitment to social change, also touched on the importance of mentorship and education. Through initiatives like the Tobun Foundation, Springboard, and his work with the Open University and Inspirational You, Tobun is dedicated to helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds access education and professional opportunities.
“Mentorship is crucial in breaking down barriers,” he explained. “When young people from underserved communities see leaders who look like them and have overcome similar challenges, it provides a tangible example of what’s possible. It’s about inspiring the next generation and showing them that success is within their reach.”
Tobun’s speech resonated with many at the summit, particularly entrepreneurs and business leaders looking for ways to foster more inclusive work environments. Attendees praised his insights on how businesses can integrate diversity into their core strategies and the importance of leadership that reflects the diverse communities they serve.
As one of the most influential Black Britons, according to Powerlist Magazine, and a trailblazer in both business and philanthropy, Tevin Tobun’s message was clear: inclusive growth is not just a social responsibility—it is an economic imperative that benefits all. His call to action for businesses to embrace diversity, invest in education, and support innovation was met with widespread agreement, reinforcing the summit’s mission to create a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
