Tobun honoured for his business and philanthropy impact by the Universty of East London

Tevin Tobun, entrepreneur, philanthropist and founder of GV Group and ROUTD Technology, received an honorary doctorate from the University of East London in recognition of his commitment to promoting social responsibility, philanthropy, and wider business success.

The ceremony highlighted Tobun’s inspirational career, praising his visionary leadership, innovative business ventures, and deep commitment to social responsibility. Over his 20+ year career he has built an impressive portfolio of businesses across multiple sectors and across several continents, with a focus on technology and logistics.

Most recently, Tobun has moved into the tech space and has developed a platform that improves the last-mile logistics of foodservice by creating visibility, accountability and traceability for all stakeholders. Since the launch in 2023, the product has evolved to provide innovative solutions to vending, warehouse management and wider logistics pain-points, and Tobun continues to identify new markets for the software.

Reflecting on the honour Tobun said ‘To have my work recognised in this way by UEL is a huge honour. The University has a special resonance for me - it is an institution that I’ve looked up to for a long time and I’m delighted to be here today. I have always wanted to support education and career opportunities of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, and I am proud that UEL champions this.’

In addition to his business endeavors, Tobun provides mentorship and empowerment to emerging Black and Asian leaders and entrepreneurs through his position as Chair of Inspirational You. He champions and helps young people secure employment in the hospitality and food service industries in his role as a life patron of the hospitality charity, Springboard

In 2015 Tobun created and launched The Tobun Foundation which supports causes that help disadvantaged young people by offering them the tools, advice and mentoring, to overcome barriers created by circumstance. The foundation offers financial assistance, mentorship, and empowerment, helping students achieve their academic goals.
